Alex is a strategic thinker with strong writing and editing skills, known for delivering effective communications materials under pressure. She has nearly 15 years’ experience supporting communications in agency, government and non-profit environments, as well as a background in journalism.
Alex works collaboratively with clients to develop a wide range of quality communications solutions that connect with key audiences, including clear and actionable plans, news releases and in-depth reports. With a background in crisis communications, she thrives in situations when the stakes are high. She has deep experience advising clients how to address media relations and PR needs as they arise.
Previously, Alex was part of the Government of New Brunswick’s corporate communications team, where she contributed to strategic planning and writing on diverse files, including health care, public safety and justice. She received a Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022 in recognition of her contribution to the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the Communications Director for the Fredericton Playhouse, Alex developed creative marketing plans to help build a strong brand for the performing arts centre. She honed her communications and storytelling skills as a newspaper editor and reporter for Here Magazine and The Daily Gleaner.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of King’s College, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Brunswick and a certificate in Indigenous Canada from the University of Alberta. Alex is based in Oromocto, NB and serves on the New Brunswick Housing Corporation’s Board of Directors.
