Cynthia has more than 30 years’ experience as a leader of teams and a specialist in communications, marketing, strategic planning, social responsibility, stakeholder engagement, issues and crisis management – and getting things done.
Cynthia founded CCGoodwin Consulting in 2019, today an award-winning firm with a team of high-performing practitioners serving clients in multiple sectors across Canada. Both her sector experience and network are vast. In addition to collaborating closely with her team to set the firm’s strategic direction, Cynthia provides both leadership and hands-on support to client work, ensuring projects are delivered with excellence. Both strategic and tactical, Cynthia helps her clients architect plans that are both ambitious and realistic. She leads with empathy, diplomacy and honesty.
Cynthia was previously President of a regional, award-winning marketing communications firm, with clients ranging from world-class corporations and national associations to small businesses and non-profit organizations. She spent nearly 10 years leading corporate communications and social responsibility at the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, where she developed and delivered its first-ever Responsible Use strategy. She has led marketing communications teams for both the University of New Brunswick and Mount Allison University, and she has played a senior role in public affairs, sustainability and government relations for Irving Oil Limited. She has served as a corporate spokesperson with media and at conferences countless times.
Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Journalism (Highest Honours in Journalism and Law) from Carleton University, an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and U of T’s Rotman School of Management, and an Indigenous Canada certificate from the University of Alberta. In the community, Cynthia has served as a Board Director and leader for numerous non-profit organizations over the past decade. She is currently a Board Director and Quarter Club Founding Member with the United Way Maritimes. She lives in Quispamsis, NB.
