Kelsey is a marketing communications professional with more than a decade of sector experience in non-profits, research and education, IT and government. She specializes in developing and implementing communications, engagement and marketing plans that get results.
Kelsey is passionate about building strategy, creating content and helping clients shine. Her big-picture, data-driven mindset is complemented by her collaborative and creative approach. Her vision, direction and leadership have won her teams numerous awards for digital annual reports, websites, videos and social media ads. In addition to her deep experience creating compelling social and digital marketing strategies and content, Kelsey is skilled at leading strategic planning, organizational development and change management projects. Some of her other areas of expertise include policy, governance and sustainability.
In Vancouver, Kelsey held research roles with non-profit organizations and academic institutions, including Mitacs, the Shareholder Association for Research and Education and the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) Faculty of Political Science. She later moved into communications and change management roles in UBC’s Faculty of Medicine. She returned home to New Brunswick in 2013 and joined the University of New Brunswick’s Communications team, specializing in storytelling, strategic communications planning and public relations. She went on to help establish the university’s award-winning marketing team, playing a lead role in the revitalization of UNB’s brand positioning and marketing strategy. As Digital Marketing Manager, she led the creation of an enterprise digital strategy, social media guidelines and training program, and oversaw the governance of the university’s external-facing online presence.
Kelsey holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Brunswick. She is Prosci change-management certified, and she holds an Indigenous Canada certificate from the University of Alberta. Kelsey is based in New Brunswick’s Upper River Valley, and she serves on the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
